The vegan recipe for Gold and Jade Bountiful Wealth Vegetarian Platter:

“Gold and Jade Bountiful Wealth Vegetarian Platter” is the name of this New Year dish created by Vege Angel. It is a special veggie combination with triple tastes – crispy, flavorsome and fresh. The word “Gold” is obtained from the first character of the Chinese name of Enoki mushroom. While, the word “Jade” is obtained from the emerald green color of celery. With this auspicious vegetarian food, the Vege Angel team would like to wish everyone good luck, abundance and happiness in the Year of the Dragon.

  • 200 g celery (slice)
  • 100 g enoki mushroom (halve)
  • 100 g carrot (shred)
  • 3 dried chilies (slice)
  • 1/3 cup wheat starch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vegetarian seasoning powder
  • 1 tbsp water
  • adequate vegetable oil


  • First, mix the enoki mushrooms with wheat starch.
  • Then, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Form the mushrooms into clumps, fry both sides until golden brown, remove and drain.
  • Keep some remaining vegetable oil in the pan, heat over medium heat and fry the dried chilies until the spicy aroma emits.
  • Gently pour in the celery slices and stir-fry until fragrant.
  • Mix the water, salt and vegetarian seasoning powder. Pour the mixture into the pan and simmer for a while.
  • Add the fried enoki mushrooms and stir for a while, so it can absorb some sauce.
  • Arrange the fried enoki mushrooms, cooked celery slices and fresh shredded carrot in a big plate.
