Sticky Millet with Pumpkin Dressing 小米糕伴南瓜酱

The vegan recipe for Sticky Millet with Pumpkin Dressing:

Millet Cakes

  • 1/2 cup sticky millet
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  1. Heat vegetable oil.
  2. Add millet, water and salt.
  3. Stir well and simmer until half absorbed.
  4. Remove and evenly place the millet into 3 bowls.
  5. Steam for 15 minutes, turn off the heat, cover with a lid and allow the millet to rest for 10 minutes.

Pumpkin Dressing

  • 1 cup mashed pumpkin
  • 2 tbsp coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  1. Place all the ingredients in a pot.
  2. Stir well, bring to a boil and briefly simmer.
  3. Remove and let cool.

Final Steps

  1. Remove the millet cakes from the bowls and set them on the plates.
  2. Top with pumpkin dressing.
  3. May sprinkle some roasted almond flakes over.
  4. Enjoy!
