Vegan Recipe: Fried Sweet Potato Slices 炸番薯板

The texture of sweet potato is so mellow, when it’s fried, it emits a unique scent which is so irresistible! While the key of the crunchiness of this vegan snack is… a small amount of (1 tbsp) rice flour, less is more!

The vegan recipe for Fried Sweet Potato Slices:

servings – 4


  • 250 g sweet potatoes (peel and slice)
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • adequate water


  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Combine wheat flour, rice flour, water and salt; stir to form a smooth batter.
  2. Coat sweet potatoes slices in the batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  3. Remove, drain and serve.
