Simmered Beetroot with Roasted White Sesame Seeds 焖红菜头伴白芝麻

The vegan recipe for Simmered Beetroot with Roasted White Sesame Seeds:

Ingredients

  • 200 g beetroot (peel and cut into cubes)
  • 2 tsp roasted white sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Seasonings

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp molasses or dark soy sauce

Method

  1. Heat vegetable oil and saute beetroot until fragrant.
  2. Add water, salt, sugar, soy sauce and molasses.
  3. Simmer over low heat until half absorbed.
  4. Remove, set on a plate and top with roasted white sesame seeds.
  5. Enjoy!
