The vegetarian recipe for Fried Bitter Gourds:

  • 2 baby bitter gourds (cut into wide strips and remove the cores)
  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 tbsp wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  1. Combine self-rising flour, wheat flour, salt and adequate water; stir to form a smooth batter.
  2. Coat the bitter gourds in the batter and fry until golden brown.
  3. Remove and drain.
  4. May serve with Vegetarian Sauce.
