The vegetarian recipe for ‘Steamed Glutinous Rice with Shiitake Mushrooms’:
1 1/2 cups glutinous rice (soak in water for 2 hours and drain)
2 sections vegetarian barbecued pork (defrost and cut into 8 slice)
8 shiitake mushrooms (soak in water until soft)
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups water
1/4 teaspoon five-spice powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
Heat oil, stir-fry vegetarian barbecued pork + shiitake mushrooms + soy sauce until fragrant.
Dish out and set aside.
In the remaining oil, stir-fry glutinous rice + five-spice powder + salt + sugar + dark soy sauce.
Add water, stir evenly, dish out and set aside.
Take 4 rice bowls.
Lay 2 slices of vegetarian barbecued pork + 2 shiitake mushrooms in the bottom of each rice bowl.
Then, put the flavoured glutinous rice on top.
Steam for about 30 minutes.
