Vegetarian Recipe: Wood Ear Crisps


  • 2 pieces of wood ear/blank fungus 黑木耳 hei mu er (soak in water until soft, tear into small pieces and set aside)
  • 1/2 cup of self-rising flour


  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon of vegetarian seasoning


  • Combine self-rising flour + salt + vegetarian seasoning + white pepper powder + water (adequate) .
  • Mix well to form a frying batter.
  • Dip the wood ear pieces in the batter.
  • Deep fry until golden brown.
  • Dish out, drain and serve.
