The vegetarian recipe for Christmas Cookies (eggless):
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup wheat flour
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/3 cup fresh milk
- 125 g or 1/2 pack butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp liquid food color – bright red
- 1 tsp liquid food color – apple green
Seasonings
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla flavor
- 2 tbsp icing sugar
Method
- Combine wheat flour, wheat germ, fresh milk, butter, sugar, baking powder and vanilla flavor; mix evenly.
- Divide into 2 portions.
- Add bright red and apple green liquid food colors to the respective dough; combine food color and dough .
- Scoop out 1/2 tbsp of each colored dough and gently knead into a round shape; repeat.
- Lay all the cookies on a greased baking tray.
- Put in a preheated oven and bake at 160°c for about 25 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle icing sugar over the cookies while it is still warm.
- Cool and serve.
