Ingredients

  • 1 cup of bitter beans/petai
  • 1/2 cup of ready-made fried shiitake slices/香脆丝 xiang cui si

Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon of vegetarian belacan powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Method

  • Heat oil, stir-fry bitter beans.
  • Add vegetarian belacan powder + chili powder +  fried shiitake slices and stir-fry until fragrant.
  • Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of water + salt + sugar and stir evenly.
  • Cover the pan and briefly simmer.
  • Dish out and serve.
